Turton Tower .
An agreement had been reached with Lancashire County Council, Blackburn with Darwen Borough Council and North Turton Parish Council for each council to pay towards the upkeep of Turton Tower. LCC's were to withdraw their notice to end the lease however see below for an update.
UPDATE APRIL, 08
LCC have not withdrawn their notice to 'quit' as promised, this is a major area of concern. A license was presented to Parish Council to sign - BwDBC advised PC not to sign this, however against advise have signed the license.
Unfortunately this means that any reparation work to Turton that should have been done following the LCC's withdrawal from their lease is ulikely to be done.
At this stage BwDBC are unlikely to agree to terms of the present license.
