The Local Choice...

We have seen much of central government policy of late, with our schools admission policy from Bolton pretty much excluding our children to the education they want and deserve. The attitude of the pen pushers in local authority over our historic buildings, as Turton Tower is fighting for it’s life.

Jean was born and educated in Bolton, and has lived in Turton for 38 years. Married to Colin, they have two children and three grandchildren.
Her hobbies are: cycling, walking, music and reading. She has been a chorister at St Anne's Church for over 30 years.
Jean is patient representative on the Breast Board at the Royal Bolton Hospital and is setting up a volunteer support group assisted by surgeons, nursing staff and volunteers.
She served on the North Turton Parish Council for 10 yrs.
Jean is Shadow Lead Member for Environmental Services, a member of BwDBC Appeals Committee, West Pennines Moor Area Management Committee, The Jumbles, Wayoh, Entwistle Recreational Management Zone.
She is a School Governor at Turton Edgworth C of E Methodist Primary School.
A member of the Combined Fire Authority she Chairs the Member Training and Development Committee and is a member of the Planning and Resources Committees.

Jean knows that local people care about local planning issues and are concerned that inappropriate developments do not take place. Jean served on the Planning Committee and has sound knowledge of planning matters, reflected by working with local residents on consultations whenever there are planning concerns.
